April is a single Southern Belle who advocates for women in the fight against breast cancer as a Baddie Ambassador with For the Breast of Us; the first online community dedicated to women of color affected by a breast cancer diagnosis.

 

April is a member of the Summer 2022 Class of Project LEAD with the National Breast Cancer Coalition; the premier science training program for activists that has created a revolution in the world of breast cancer research and public policy.

 

As a young woman, April is very passionate about advocating to young women on breast health. In efforts to become a better advocate, she became involved with Living Beyond Breast Cancer and participated in the Young Advocate Training Program in 2022.

 

April is also an advocate for children and has served as a school counselor for seventeen years. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the mother of an adorable miniature pincher named Georgia Grace also known as GiGi.
