Breast cancer arrived to my family when my mother was diagnosed almost 20 years ago. Ten year later I was also diagnosed at 49 years old when my daughter was 10.

My Story

When my mother was diagnosed, I began supporting Unidas Contigo which is a Non profit organization that offers emotional support for breast cancer patients. As a psychologist I studied an specialization in oncology and I’ve been working for almost two decades in the breast cancer world. I am married and my daughter is now 21 years old. I am also a University professor at the school of medicine in Tecnológico de Monterrey. I founded Travesías de Tinta which is a collective group where we write as a way of healing and we invite cancer patients to write their stories and share them with others as a way of expression and connection.

The Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) is a grassroots advocacy, educational, and support organization established for women and men with breast cancer and for those concerned about breast cancer issues.
