She was diagnosed with stage 3, Her2+ breast cancer in 2008 and has been living with no evidence of disease since 2009. Beth was a practicing attorney for over 45 years, focusing on business and regulatory issues for electric utilities, before retiring in 2021. She actively lobbies on breast cancer issues in the state and before Congress and regularly serves as a patient advocate on peer review panels for breast cancer research grants.
